[ga-abuse] The Art of Persuasion


Hi Danny & List Monitors

Thank you for accepting the motion.  It's a pity the vote cannot be
conducted until October.  It may be that this could incorporate the Best
Practices Guidelines as well.

Meanwhile there are 18 declared supporters (excluding the Chair).  I have
not included Joanna Lane who supported the concept but disagreed with the
wording.

Those firmly opposed are William X. Walsh and Joe Kelsey.  Ha !!
I see 20 in favour and 2 opposed as pretty overwhelming support.

Certainly there is a clear consensus (if taken as a two-thirds majority).

The list rules provide that issues must be on topic to the business on the
GA.  Have you any view on the idea of the List Monitors encouraging
people to use [ga-rules] for debate on procedural issues?

Personally I would prefer to enforce compliance but consider that reminders
would be fairly effective.  My post listing the supporters is shown below.
