Kind of "free on probation"... Still, to me, your decision made the
impression that you were conceding too much to loud shouting on the
various lists, thus undermining the monitors' authority.
Frankly, we expect people on the ga lists to be adults, and to
behave like adults. Thus, they should know beforehand how to behave
and how not to behave. And not being allowed to post can give
people a healthy period of self-reflection.
Bottom line: I don't think that exercising clemency with respect to
Eric was a good idea.
