Dear Bruce
On behalf of the Chair, myself and the other list monitors, I would like to
thank you for your very kind efforts to provide the General Assembly with
list facilities that remain within the bounds of decent and proper
behaviour. Unfortunately, as we all know, this is a most difficult and
thankless task not only because some of the participants seem so ready to
breach the rules but also because so many others are so ready to defend
them. There is also a huge volume of posts, complaints, etc.
To maintain proper behaviour in the face of this resistance means that the
list monitors must tolerate conduct that they personally find objectionable.
It also means that there is a need for discussion and consensus in making
every decision. This means that the process is not "simple and quick".
In fact neither is it very effective. We all find this most frustrating.
However, your services are most appreciated and we wish you well in your
endevours.
I know you will understand that the DNSO Secretariat will treat your
resignation as a list monitor as a request to unsubscribe from the
[ga-abuse] mailing list.
Thank you again for your kind services.
Kind regards
Patrick Corliss
Alternative Chair
