Hi Bruce & Kristy

As you know I am not a fan of William X. Walsh but many of his 11 posts
contributed to the ongoing debate in a way that I have hardly ever seen from
him before. Of course William is perfectly well aware of the 5 posts per
day rule having been suspended for that reason himself. It is also
interesting that it occurred just after Bruce posted a reminder.

However, William was responding to Stefan Probst, Marc Schneiders and others
quite vigorously and I think we should perhaps be careful not to curtail
free expression too much. He was, after all, the only person able to rebut
some of their arguments. This led, in his last few posts, to some serious
analysis on the subject. Of course, 11 posts in one day is clearly
excessive and he may have been deliberately testing the resolve of the list
monitors.

The complaint from Joop is three weeks old now and we need to act quicker
than that to be most effective. I appreciate that I am not involved in this
case but wonder if we should at least consider asking William for a chance
to explain before taking any action.

The decision, of course, is yours alone.

Best regards
Patrick Corliss
