Those are not the issues I speak of Milton.

The issues surround some conflict over an IANA sanction and effective
delegation of .web to IOD.  While I do not believe what happened would
(or has) stood up in a court as giving IOD legal rights in running a
.web registry, I also do not believe the complete denial from IANA
that it was never their intent to do that.

As such, the issues around IOD are NOT at all similar to the alt.root
TLDs.  It can be argued that IOD was operating with official sanction,
in the process, and had a reasonable belief to do so. (A position I
personally disagree with, however)

The alt.root TLDs cannot make such a claim.  Their position and IODs
are entirely dissimilar and do not in any way effect one another.

(You will note that IOD has wisely separated itself from the
alt.roots, at least publicly.  I suspect it may be in order to
strengthen the focus on these differences)
