Re: [ga-abuse] M2 against Jim Fleming

William Walsh does obviously not have the right to
mass post: I have just M1ed a complaint against WXW
which is also based on the violation of the posting
limit.

I was under the impression that you had already tried
to convince Jim Fleming to abide by the list rules.
If I recall correctly, there had already been complaints
about his postings on 3-Jun-01 and 6-Jun-01, and you
agreed to Bruce James' request to "See if Jim is
willing to *tone it down*." In addition to your efforts,
Patrick wrote a very friendly caution (4-Jun-01):
 Personally I am very tolerant but I will take this opportunity to caution
 Jim officially that he should work with us co-operatively to develop policy.
 Many important issues need to be debated and we cannot be distracted by
 "brute force" postings.
 So, Jim, can you use your undoubted expertise constructively, please?

> If you suspend Jim for this I will make public your decision to not suspend

Excuse me, Kristy, but I think there must be a
terrible misunderstanding here: There is no such
"decision to not suspend William Walsh" by me;
I just recommended suspending him.

In my view, if we are prepared to suspend William
X. Walsh for 7 postings/24 hrs. and attacks, fairness
requires us to also suspend Jim Fleming for his
12 postings/24 hrs. if he has been cautioned before.
And I would like to have a quick decision on this,
or others will get the impression that they can also
get away with more than double the posting limit.

Best regards,
/// Alexander

P.S.: I strongly object to the threat of
'making something public': ga-abuse@dnso.org is not
a back room, it's an e-mail alias for processing
complaints -- every posting should be publishable.
Not to mention that I object to threats in general.
