Re: [ga-abuse] Unsuspension of Eric Dierker - reason to resign

Dear list monitors,

this exodus -- first Bruce, now Harald -- is sad.

If I wouldn't disagree with the substance of Patrick's
decision, I wouldn't have M2ed Eric's suspension, but
I think Patrick made the best of it and didn't undermine
the abuse process. The legitimacy of the abuse process
rests on the acceptance of the decisions by the sensible
part of the GA membership (e.g. both Peter de Blanc and
Roberto Gaetano seemed to be calling for overturning it,
while Ken Stubbs posted an unfortunate defence), on the
availability of GA-full as alternative list and the
Chair's ability to overturn the decision: I can live
with Patrick's decision.

BTW, I think the damage -- even the long-term damage
for the whole abuse process -- of allowing Eric to post
to GA is smaller than it would have been the other way
around.

Anyway: Thanks, Harald, for your efforts!

Best regards,
/// Alexander
