Re: [ga-abuse] [ADMIN M1] Case Against Thomas Roessler

Hi Roberto & Alexander

Ben Edelman argued that Atlantic Root did not have a justifiable claim.
Whilst I disagree personally (based on the relevant dates), this is a proper
argument. Ben provided facts that could be rebutted. Leah responded in the
way that she thought was most appropriate.

Of course, the example of .biz is particularly important as the inclusive
TLDs are claiming that ICANN is using it to set a precedent for further
grants of new TLDs. I think it does set some sort of precedent and thus
surrounding arguments are very persuasive one way of the other.

As far as I am concerned the argument is a furphy anyway. The principle is
whether ICANN should allocate a new TLD which conflicts with an existing
one. However, Leah has used her own case as an example and this opens the
way to the counter proposition being made.

Nevertheless, my view is that Thomas sailed dangerously close to a personal
attack on Leah Gallegos. Thomas should be warned, and quickly, along the
lines suggested by Alexander i.e. that he should stick to the facts and
avoid what could be seen as personal attacks on Leah Gallegos.

We really do need a stronger case before deciding to suspend someone. I
agree with Roberto and thank him for his very welcome input into the
decision-making process.

Can I clarify, is Alexander the M2 for this complaint?

Regards
Patrick Corliss
