Me too. I also think it is hard for us to go examining dates and the like
when trying to determine what to accept. If we are making a public
announcement then that is the important moment. Like judges, we have
*handed down* our decision.
After that moment, any appeal must go to the Chair.
I think in the circumstances we should simply ask Roeland if he wishes to
make a statement. In fact, due process probably requires us to ask that at
the time of the complaint. In other words to say "We have received a
complaint in relation to your posting X. Do you wish to say anything before
we consider the matter?"
So we need three templates. One for the complaint. Two for us to notify
the person being complained about ("have you anything to say?"). Three to
announce suspensions (public) and warnings (private?).
