I'd suggest deleting this sentence:

One of the two messages is only one sentence long; the other contains a fair
amount of material that can be reasonably taken as "not an insult", for 
instance:

of course it builds up to his stated opinion about mr. Froomkin, but in 
itself, it is not an insult or insinuation.
