List Monitors

Complaint Against William X. Walsh (see below)
Grounds: Personal Attacks, Insults and Slander
(a) That the Chairs are egotistical and tyrannical.
(b) That the Chairs do not understand the limits of the role.
(c) That both Chairs abuse the powers through their special
interest/agenda.

Note that (b) might be permissible on the grounds of fair criticism if
supported by anything other than a sweeping generalisation. In fact, Mr Walsh
has continued to attack every post that I've made which leads to further
complaints:

(d) That Mr Walsh does not address his criticisms to the point but makes
personal and generalised attacks without substantiation. As he does this in
response to almost anything I post, it amounts to harassment rather than fair
comment.
(e) That Mr Walsh regularly uses emotive language such as "demands",
"egotistical" and "tyrannical" in respect of anything I do or say.

I understand from Roberto's comments that members can say what they like on
the [ga-full] mailing list meaning that the list monitors, and the Chairs, are
powerless to stop such activities.

However, I would ask the list monitors to consider Mr Walsh's lack of regret
and continued abuse when considering complaints made against him for posts
that were made outside of his current suspension.

In the circumstances I do not intent to submit any further complaints against
Mr Walsh while he is suspended. I will, however, ask that the list monitors
consider the implications of Mr Walsh's general behaviour and conduct most
carefully.

Regards
Patrick Corliss

What about member's rights to be free from egotistical tyrannical
chairs who don't understand the limits to their role?

What safeguards the members against that?

Especially when both the chairs share a common special interest and
"agenda"?

The GA has taken backward steps, it's a real pity to witness.
