[ga-roots] alt-codes-for-symbols
NumPad Equivalent Table
The upper half of the ASCII code table includes many of the symbols that are allowed (as well as some illegal ones). Below is a table of alt codes. You can input them to a browser by turning on numlock, holding down the alt key, and typing in the decimal value of the character using the numeric keypad. For example, if you want to type the euro symbol in the search form, you hold down alt, type "0128" and releasing. Voila! A UTF-8 input Web page converts that to the UNICODE representation of the symbol and it becomes registerable. This method may not work in Netscape. /Bruce
