[ga-abuse] M1 Against William Walsh
Date: December 4
M1: Kristy McKee
Complainants: Joop Teernstra, terastra@terabytz.co.nz;
Complainant Comment: "The posting below, both because of its offensiveness
and the threats of more such "undiplomatic" language is in utter disregard
of list policies of "decorum".
Against: William Walsh, william@userfriendly.com
Message: http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/ga/Arc08/msg02986.html
Grounds: Personal, offensive attack
Recommendation: warning
M1 Comment: Either we give him a warning to let him know we're still
around or Suspend him for four weeks for intentionally breaking the rules
and his agreement with us to discontinue fighting with Joop in our
forum. We should probably review Joop's messages to William as well to try
to ensure overall fairness.
----------
I filled in our template message (you made) below:
William Walsh's posting rights are temporarily suspended for four weeks.
His posting
http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/ga/Arc08/msg01414.html contains a personal
attack on a GA member using strong offensive words ("Oh fuck off.", "Little
Napoleon", "He is an out and out liar.", "I will not be diplomatic in my
responses to his bullshit any longer."). It did not observe a minimum of
decorum.
The following rules apply to content of messages on the GA list:
- The messages must be relevant to the business of the GA
- The messages must observe a minimum of decorum, including:
- Not indulging in personal attacks, insults or slander
- Not using offensive language
- If the GA Chair or a list monitor asks for a limit to the number
of posts per person per day, this must be respected
- The size of messages should be kept reasonable (there should be
a VERY good reason to send a message of more than 10 Kbytes).
http://www.dnso.org/dnso/notes/2000.GA-ga-rules.html
This decision can be appealed to the GA Chair.
