[ga-abuse] Complaint Against Kristy McKee

Dear William

I refer to your complaint against Kristy McKee as follows:
http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/ga/Arc08/msg00103.html
and advise that it has been decided to take no further action
for the following reasons:

First of all, the posting is not off-topic: Kristy McKee replies to an
analogy used by Kent Crispin between computer scientists and heart
surgeons. It is not the list monitor's job to decide whether such
analogies are especially helpful for the business of the GA, only
whether they are irrelevant or not.

Secondly, about the first paragraph: "Your lack of logic and loss of
strength in communication concerns me, I hope everything is okay in
your life."

Had it been worded in a stronger way, a warning would be appropriate.
However, there is a difference between this sentence and inappropriate
personal attacks which have triggered warnings and suspensions in the past.
This post does not quite cross the boundary between acceptable criticism and
an inappropriate personal attack, even though it seems that the sentence
centers on the person, Kent, instead of his opinion.

Clearly a warning in this case would interpret this posting in the most
negative way. If generally adopted, this would set too high a standard for
subscribers to follow.

Please note that Kristy McKee was not involved in any part of the decision
process.

Regards
Patrick Corliss
