it is out of question that virus warnings are
important, but they are by no means the only important
issue which is off-topic on a list for the Domain Name
Supporting Organization. There is an extraordinarily
high number of mailing lists and newsletters were
virus warnings are *on*-topic.
You can subscribe to some of them at

On these lists, there were plenty of warnings about the
W32/SirCam virus, most of them with instructions how to
remove or disable the virus -- very helpful information
indeed. This was all our friendly reminder was about.
