[ga-abuse] A note on monitoring and suspensions
[...the complete one...]
Dear fellow list monitors,
for the record: All this tech/admin/footer/flame
discussion stuff is diverting attention from the
list monitoring itself and paralyses the monitors
team additionally. Please take it off this
list, it is ghastly.
About the M1 against William X. Walsh I am sending
together with this note: If I were to send a
/warning/, I would include a higher share of
submitted complaints -- some are objectionable,
but are not themselves a reason for a suspension.
(I believe the personal attacks and the posting
limit violation which /are/ included are sufficient.)
As you will see, my M1 comments are actually what
I would post if I had to give reasons for the
suspension. Writing it down like this may be a
good way to check if a recommendation proposing
a suspension stands scrutiny.
We should probably wait if there is agreement about
the complaints against William X. Walsh, Jim Fleming
and Jeff Williams since all of the recommendations
involve suspensions which have to be implemented by
Elisabeth.
About new volunteers: I for one would be very happy
to have some help. Roberto is quite right that
Thomas comes "from a similar environment" (well, Thomas
is a techie and I'm not, but in general ;)), and
I would understand if Danny objects as the perception
of bias would not be helpful. On the other hand,
Patrick is also right that it is not really a much
sought-after job, and the burn-out/drop-out rate is
dangerously high at the moment.
Best regards,
/// Alexander
